Titan Industries Limited, one of India’s leading producers and retailer of watches and jewellery, is aiming at 25 per cent growth in sales of watches in the Orissa market in 2009-10.

The company has set a sales target of Rs 15 crore in the watches segment in Orissa in this fiscal compared to Rs 12 crore achieved in 2008-09.

“We are eyeing sales of Rs 15 crore in the Orissa market in this fiscal in the watches segment. There are five World of Titan outlets in the state and the company plans to add two more at Berhampur and Balasore shortly”, said D Nagendra Prasad, area sales manager (Orissa and Chhattisgarh) of Titan Industries Limited.

Apart from the five World of Titan outlets in Orissa, there are more than 200 dealers in the state who sell Titan’s products.

Aditya Kejriwal, brand manager, Titan Industries Limited said, “Titan Industries recorded a pan-India sales of Rs 780 crore in the watches segment in 2008-09. The prevailing downturn has not dented our sales and we have not scaled down our brand spending.”

Kejriwal, however, declined to comment on the amount spent by Titan on brand promotion.
