The Tata promoted Rs 800 crore Titan Industries is planning to spread its wings further in the international market with an export target of 50 countries by 2005.

Meera Harish, head - Asia Pacific, Titan Industries, said, "We have just forayed into Phillipines and have already tested the markets in Latin America, Indonesia and Pakistan, where we will be exporting in the coming months. We are also looking at servicing markets in Iraq, Canada and South America in the near future."

The firm is aiming at a substantial increase in its international presence, which at present is in 30 nations to at least 50 nations by the end of 2005.

As of now, exports form around 10 per cent of the firm's turnover, but with an increased thrust on global markets, the percentage is likely to go up.

"Canada, South America, Latin America are big markets and we hope to have a stronger presence in these markets," she said.

Titan had set up a distribution network in Phillipines about 4 months back and is now marketing its products through close to 100 stores.

Meanwhile, the company has entered Philippines. The company's watches are available in 70 stores in the country. It has moved there after its success in Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. An exclusive Titan store is also in the offing.
