TMB appoints H S Upendra Kamath as MD & CEO

The Bank would foray into medium and large corporate funding in a phased manner, says new MD

Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (TMB), one of the oldest private sector bank in the country, has appointed H S Upendra Kamath as MD & CEO, of the Bank for a term of three years. 
 
He was the Chairman and MD of Vijaya Bank during 2011-2013 and was Executive Director of Canara Bank during 2009-2011. K B Nagendra Murthy was the managing director and chief executive officer of the over Rs 37,000 crore-Bank till the beginning of this month. 
 
Kamath stated that TMB must become a Pan-India Bank within a set time frame and said that the Bank would make foray into mid-corporate and large corporate funding in a phased way.
