The country's top 10 firms added over Rs 17,000 crore to their market capitalisation last week, with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) contributing the major chunk.
The coveted club, which comprises of four private sector and six public companies, turned positive after two weeks and added Rs 17,562 crore to its total market value at Rs 15,72,541 crore.
Last week, total market cap of the companies stood at Rs 15,54,979 crore.
Private sector engineering major L&T was the biggest gainer during the week ended June 26, adding Rs 6,748 crore to its market-cap, taking its total valuation to Rs 94,457 crore. Shares of L&T surged nearly 8 per cent to settle at Rs 1,611.20 at the end of the Friday's trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Last week, the firm's market-cap stood Rs 87,709 crore. during the week -- RIL, NTPC and MMTC -- together lost Rs 11,812 in their market capitalisation.
Mukesh Ambani led-RIL lost Rs 1,723 crore in its market valuation, which was at Rs 3,19,273 crore in the week ended June 26, 2009. The company had a market-cap of Rs 3,20,996 crore in the previous week.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) added Rs 6,598 crore while National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) lost Rs 2,597 crore in their vauation. The total market valuation of ONGC stood at Rs 2,22,635 crore and NTPC at Rs 1,60,745 crore at the end of the week.
The club saw telecom services provider Bharti Airtel move up to the fourth slot pushing Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation of India (MMTC) down by a notch to the fifth position. During the week Bharti added Rs 750 crore while MMTC lost Rs 7,491 crore slipping to.
At the end of the week, market-cap of Airtel stood at Rs 1,53,679 crore and MMTC at Rs 1,51,337 crore.
Mining major National Mining Development Corporation (NMDC) added Rs 5,095 crore to its market-cap and the country's largest public sector lender State bank of India added Rs 1,561.81 crore to its market valuation last week.
At the end of the week market-cap of NMDC stood at Rs 1,46,971 crore and SBI at Rs 1,11,037 crore.
Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) added Rs 5,434 crore to its market valuation and IT bellwether Infosys Technologies added Rs 3,188 crore to its market cap.
In the club of top-10 firms, RIL is followed by ONGC (Rs 2,22,635 crore), NTPC (Rs 1,60,745 crore), Bharti Airtel (Rs 1,53,679 crore), MMTC (Rs 1,51,337 crore), NMDC (Rs 1,46,971 crore), SBI (Rs 1,11,037 crore), BHEL (Rs 1,07,768 crore), Infosys (Rs 1,04,640 crore) and L&T (Rs 94,457 crore).
