Torrent Pharmaceuticals today launched Nexpro Fast, a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI), to treat peptic ulcers and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD). According to an official release issued by the company to the BSE today, Nexpro Fast, launched for the first time in India, gives immediate relief as it reaches the site of action quicky and neutralizes the acid in the stomach within 60 seconds."We expect it to be among the top 5 brands in the PPI market, touching sales of over Rs 11 crore within one year of its launch," Sujesh Vasudevan, VP-Marketing of the company, said.The PPI market is worth Rs 390 crore, of which Esomeprazole market accounts for Rs 27 crore.
