Drug firm Torrent Pharmaceuticals today reported 2.97 per cent increase in net profit for the for the second quarter ended September 30 to Rs 76.19 crore.
Net profit for the same quarter last fiscal was at Rs 73.99 crore, the company said in a statement.
Total income for the period under review stood at Rs 581.51 crore, as against Rs 479.62 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
For the half year ended September 30, consolidated net profit rose to Rs 150.41 crore from Rs 89.11 crore. The total income during the period stood at Rs 1122.51 crore as against Rs 960.67 for the same period last year, it added.
Torrent Pharma also said that its Board in its meeting held on October 23, 2010 has accepted resignation of Kiran Karnik as Director of the Company and has appointed Shailesh V Haribhakti as an additional director.
Shares of Torrent Pharma were trading at Rs 557 on the BSE in the afternoon trade down 1.82 per cent from its previous close.
