Toyota expands dealer network in Bangalore

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Monday announced the setting up of its third dealership in Bangalore.
 
The outlet is owned by Ravindu Toyota and is being managed by Ravi Kirloskar's family with his wife Meena Kirloskar running the show as the CEO.
 
The showroom, located on Victoria Road, is Ravindu's second outlet in Bangalore after its first at Chord Road in Bangalore West. TKM is a 89:11 joint venture between Toyota and Vikram Kirloskar, another sibling of the Kirloskar family.
 
Inaugurating this dealership, Atsushi Toyoshima, managing director, TKM, said: "We are rapidly expanding our network of dealerships as per our target of 68 dealerships across India by end of 2006. This expansion plan is in line with our aim to achieve 10 per cent marketshare by 2010."
 
TKM after having sold a little over 40,000 vehicles during last fiscal has 4 per cent marketshare in India and is looking at selling 56,000 vehicles during the present fiscal.
 
The company currently has an installed capacity for 60,000 units annually.
