Toyota Kirloskar Motor's Innova has registered a healthy 68 per cent growth rate in sales in Rajasthan last month.

The company sold 89 Innovas in February compared to 53 in the last month. The segment has grown by 19 per cent and the Innova's market share in this segment is about 24 per cent.

"The Innova has gained acceptance equally among the sedan and MPV buyers. Rajasthan, particularly in Jodhpur, has been one of the growth markets for the brand. Our customers in Jodhpur have chosen the Innova particularly for its space and ruggedness," a company official claimed.

The north zone has registered an impressive 52 per cent growth this year with 1,039 Innovas sold this year, against the 682 sold last year. Sales in Jodhpur have registered 100 per cent growth. Udaipur has registered remarkable growth of 167 per cent.

Ever since its launch in early 2005, the Toyota Innova has attracted customers in large numbers. For the second anniversary, Toyota has introduced the new Innova E-Grade, aimed at the corporate and travel segment. The strategic introduction of the new E-Grade opens up these two very critical segments in the market.

The Innova is built in ten countries, including India, across three continents: Asia, Africa and South America. The Innova is a first generation vehicle on the IMV platform of Toyota Motor Corporation. Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corporation and the Kirloskar Group.

TKM has invested nearly Rs 1,500 crore in its plant in Bidadi, employing over 2,800 people of whom over 90 per cent are from Karnataka. The plant started production in December 1999 and has an installed capacity of manufacturing 60,000 vehicles per annum.
