Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today reported a 19.83% increase in sales at 13,995 units during August 2012.
It had sold 11,679 units in the same month last year, TKM said in a statement.
TKM, a joint venture between Japan's Toyota Motor Corp and the Kirloskar Group, said the sales growth was mainly driven by Innova, Etios and Fortuner.
"We have registered a growth this month based on good sales of Etios, Innova and Fortuner. We launched the All New Camry last month and have received an overwhelming response with 111 orders. We have dispatched 60 units last month," TKM Deputy Managing Director, Marketing, Sandeep Singh said in a statement.
The Camry is being locally manufactured at an exclusive assembly line in the company's second plant at Bangalore.
TKM's Etios series registered a 3% rise in sales during the month at 5,698 units compared to 5,524 units in August 2011.
The Innova sales stood at 6,439 units last month against 4,303 units in August last year, a jump of 50%.
The sales of Fortuner was at 1,289 units compared to 897 units in August last year, up 44%.
Camry sales stood at 60 units in August as against 34 units in the same month last year, up 76%.
The sales of Corolla Altis stood at 492 units, down 54% from 913 units in the same month last year.
