Citing an instance, she wondered how many consumers were aware of the significant improvement in the per capita consumption of electricity to 520 units in 2002-03 as against 400 units in the previous year.
The per capita consumption of electricity is an indicator of economic development of any individual, institution or state. It is the highest in the southern and northern states, compared with that in the other regions, she noted.
