Tree House Q4 net profit down 17% q-o-q

The company said that this was owing to the costs involved in setting up of 75 new centres of the pre-school

Tree House Education and Accessories Limited ('Tree House'), one of the leading pre-school chain company in the country posted a net profit of Rs 5.06 crore for the March 2012 quarter, down by 17.3%  from quarter ended December 2011. The company said that this was owing to the costs involved in setting up of 75 new centres of the pre-school. The net profit for FY 2012 was Rs 21.6 crore, up by 138% from Rs 9.19 crore for the entire FY 2011.   
 
"Tree House results reflect the over all growth in the students at our centers, we are capturing significant market share in the cities we are present in. The past 6 months have seen Tree House create substantial student intake capacity across the country. We are seeing huge traction for admission for the next academic year which will lead to margin expansion both on the PAT and EBITDA front," said Rajesh Bhatia, Promoter and Managing Director, Tree House.
 
The company completed its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in August 2011 and the results are prepared in accordance with the listing agreements with stock exchanges. Hence the corresponding figures for the quarters before September 2011 are not available.
