Trend Micro rated top anti-virus firm

Trend Micro India Pvt Ltd, a network anti-virus and internet content security software and services provider, has said that it had been rated the number one anti-virus software company in India in terms of market revenues and market share by IDC's Semi-Annual Packaged Software Market Tracker, 1H 2005.

According to the IDC report, Trend Micro India accounted for a 22.5 per cent market share of the total Indian security software market, moving the company to the top position in the category of security software.

Trend Micro India, a fully-owned subsidiary of the US-based Trend Micro Inc, has also bagged the top position in the Indian secure content management software market, which includes anti-virus, web filtering, and messaging security solutions, with 38.1 per cent market share, a company statement said.

For 1H 2005, the services sector was the largest purchaser of the security software products followed by the BFSI (Banking, Finance, Securities and Insurance) and the government.
