Chennai-based T T K Healthcare had reported net profit of Rs 2.96 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2008, compared with Rs 1.23 crore for the same period last year. Net sales have increased to Rs 56 crore from Rs 47 crore, an increase of 19 per cent.
Asian Paints net halves to Rs 59 cr in Q3
Asian Paints, one of the country’s largest paint companies, today posted a fall of 50 per cent in its consolidated net profit to Rs 59 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2008, as surging expenditure eroded the company’s margins. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 118.8 crore for the same quarter the previous year. Net sales, however, grew by 12 per cent to Rs 1,333 crore compared with Rs 1,190 crore recorded in the year-ago period.
Shashun Chem loss at Rs 13.48 crore
Chennai-based Shashun Chemicals had reported net loss of Rs 13.48 crore during the quarter ended December 31, 2008 as compared to profit of Rs 5.86 crore during the same period last year. Company’s net sales increased by 10 per cent to Rs 130 crore during the quarter as compared to Rs 118 crore, a year ago. Consumption of raw materials had increased to Rs 77.8 crore as compared to Rs 70.9 crore, an increase of 9 per cent. The company had gained Rs 17.69 crore in exchange as compared to Rs 7.28 crore loss, a year ago.
