Bangalore-based TTK Prestige has entered into an exclusive supplier agreement with Meyers Prestige, the largest supplier of cookware in the UK. |
"This agreement has opened up for the company a significant market for cookware outside the US, especially countries in West Asia and the African continent," said company's chairman T T Jagannathan. |

So far the company has supplied cookware products worth altogether $1.5 million to Mayers Prestige. This tie-up will enable it to export to major global markets other than the US. Hence it is devising plans to access retail customers in the UK, including most department stores, supermarkets and many independent cookshops. |

The company's tasted success in 1994 when it set up TTK Manttra Inc in New Orleans, US. The company sold products as the Manttra range. The success of the Manttra brand of pressure cookers in the US prompted the company to increase its stake in TTK Manttra. |

Manttra is available in the US in major retail chains like Fred Meyer, Wal-Mart, K Mart, Target, Sears & Roebuck, Macy's, J C Penny, Ames, Dillard's and Saks. |

The company has evolved a diversified and differentiated product range based on market segmentation. The marketing plan covers aspects like geographical spread, distribution and retail thrust, all aimed at establishing itself as a total kitchen solution company. |

"With residential real estate booming, there is a big potential for modular kitchens and kitchen-related products," said Jagannathan.The company therefore is repostioning itself as the 'total kitchen solution provider'. |

The company saw a turnover of Rs 189.37 crore for financial year 2004-05. Post tax profit stood at Rs 3.81 crore, compared to Rs 21 lakh in financial year 2003-04. |

For the second successive year it has achieved a 30 per cent growth. |

The company's high growth came from product categories like pressure cookers, non-stick cookware and kitchen electrical appliances, said Jagannathan. |
