Ahmedabad will get its first acting school this August when the academic year begins, at Tulip International School. |
Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods International, a film, television and media arts institute, is tying up with city-based The New Tulip International School to set up an acting course. The course will be open not only for kids but for people of all age groups. |

On the details of the tie-up, principal of the school, Leena Ashok said, "Two months ago, Ghai expressed his desire to start a course on acting in the city and he was looking for partners. With Tulip offering quality education with international curriculum, he chose to tie up with us. He will visit us soon to discuss the logistics of the new course." |

The school is expanding its campus with a new hostel facility. According to Ashok, the acting course will be offered at the new building that will come up in the backyard of the school's building. |

Refusing to divulge details of the tie-up, Ashok added, "We are still not sure how much investment would be needed for the new course and if Ghai would only support us with the faculty from his Whistling Woods International or he would also support us financially." |

Tulip International is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and has organised a two-day annual function on February 8 and February 9. Among the various programmes it has organised, 'Cricket in the auditorium-Howzatt', an on-stage cricket contest for around 630 participants from the school. |

Founded in 1996 by Tulip Charitable Trust, the school offers The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE-Cambridge) and GSEB syllabus, and will soon begin offering courses in ICSE and CBSE syllabus. |

Classes for the course is expected to begin this academic year, said Ashok adding that the passouts will be picked up by Ghai himself for his future projects apart from other directors or advertising companies. |

Whistling Woods International, an initiative of Mukta Arts Limited and Film City, offers theoretical and practical training in film, television and media arts. It offers two-year diploma programmes - from direction to acting and editing to cinematography and screenplay writing. |
