Turbomeca, a France-based player in manufacturing Aero, land and marine turbines, on Wednesday, said it is opening its industrial operations in BangBangalorelore though its 100 per cent subsidiary Turbomeca Turbochargers Industrial India (TTII). |
The subsidiary will initially focus on industrial turbochargers and will assemble, sell and service turbochargers, which are used to boost several hundreds of large diesel engines essentially for railway applications. |

The new subsidiary sources components, assembles and tests Turbomeca HS 5800 NG, next generation turbochargers. |

The company plans to sell it in India and international markets. TTII will also extend after sales support to Indian customers. Subramanium Kumar, managing director of TTII said, "This plant represents a considerable advantage, enabling us to gain a competitive advantage in the global market." |

The facility has been set up with a capacity to produce 250 turbochargers annually with a potential for further increase to accompany the growth in market demand. The main objective is to manufacture in India 100 per cent of the parts and components constituting the turbochargers. |
