Two-wheeler major TVS Motor Company today reported a marginal dip in its total sales during the month of June.
The Chennai-based manufacturer sold 1,65,483 units in June 2012 against 1,82,456 units sold in the same month of previous year, a company statement said.
Total two-wheeler sales declined to 1,65,438 units against 1,78,633 units in June 2011. The domestic sales of the company stood at 1,47,893 units against 1,55,296 units.
Motorcycle sales witnessed a sharp fall to 61,274 units against 69,859 units in June 2011. Sales of scooters dipped to 38,166 units from 44,281.
The company's exports also declined to 19,750 units in the month under review against 26,539 units in year-ago period, it said, adding that two-wheeler exports stood at 17,545 units compared to 23,337 units in same month last year.
Sales of three-wheeler dropped to 3,255 units in June against 3,823 units in the same month last year.
The total cumulative sales for April-June period dropped to 5,19,160 units against 5,36,130 units in the same period of previous year.
