Chennai-based 2-wheeler maker TVS Motor Company today reported 17% increase in total vehicle sales in September to 2,19,369 units.
The company sold 1,88,005 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.
Two-wheeler sales grew by 17% last month to 2,15,690 units from 1,84,783 units in the year-ago period, it added.
Scooter sales increased 30% to 55,879 units in September, from 43,086 units in the same month of 2010. Motorcycle sales stood at 90,848 units, compared to 81,381 units in the year-ago period up 12%.
The company's domestic two-wheeler sales registered a growth of 16% to 1,92,027 units, as against 1,65,418 units in September, 2010.
Three-wheeler sales of the company went up by 14% last month to 3,679 units from 3,222 units in the same month of 2010, the statement said.
Exports of the company increased 27% to 25,973 units from 20,487 units in the same month previous year, it added.
