Two die in electric accident at JSPL plant site

In an electric short circuit accident, two workers at the Angul plant of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) died and another person got injured. The victims were engaged in construction work at the steel plant, through a contractor agency. The deceased persons are from Sundergarh district. The state labour commissioner has directed the regional officer to ensure that the families of the dead laboureres get adequate compensation as per existing policies. Meanwhile, the state director of factories and boilers said that legal proceedings would be started against the person in charge of safety of the JSPL factory.
