The High Court here granted bail today to S Gopalakrishnan, former auditor of Pricewaterhouse, and to Prabhakara Gupta, former internal auditor of Satyam Computer Services Ltd, both accused in the massive accounting scam at the IT outsourcing company.
Gopalakrishnan and Srinivas Talluri were accused of conspiring with Satyam founder B Ramalinga Raju. Earlier, Talluri had secured bail from the Supreme Court.
Gopalakrishnan argued that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had already filed three chargesheets, indicating the probe was over and there was no possibility of him tampering with any evidence.
Meanwhile, a local court today allowed G Ramakrishna, another of the accused, to use a computer in prison to enable him to prepare his defence in the case. The court directed the superintendent of the Chanchalguda Central Prison to provide him a basic desktop, with an optical drive facility to read the CDs and DVDs supplied by CBI.
