Public sector lender UCO Bank today said net profit surged nearly four-fold to Rs 379.80 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2010, in comparison to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Total income of the bank rose to Rs 2,690 crore for the quarter ended March 31 compared to Rs 2,520.62 crore during the corresponding period of the previous year, UCO Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The bank has recommended a dividend of Rs 1.50 per share.
For the year ended March, 2010, the bank posted a net profit of Rs 1,012 crore compared to Rs 557.72 crore in the last fiscal.
The bank reported a total income of Rs 10,492.25 crore for the year ended March, 2010, as against Rs 9,141.28 crore in the previous financial year.
The bank earned an interest of Rs 2,435.91 crore for the quarter ended March 31, compared to Rs 2,164.28 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Shares of UCO Bank today closed at Rs 69.20 on the BSE, down 1.14 per cent from the previous close.
