RM plc, a supplier of software, services and systems to the UK and Australian education segment, is keen on foraying into schools in India. |
The company, if a decision in this regard comes about soon, would make its entry into the segment through its Thiruvananthapuram-based offshore development centre RM Education Solutions India (RMESI). |

John Leighfield, chairman (global group), RM plc, said, "We will have to take a concrete decision after weighing all options. The education scene in the country faces a major financial resources crunch and incorporating RM's educational software and services might not be a viable proposition for many schools in India only due to this." |
|
However, the company, which has a sizable part of its operations originating from India's offshore base in Thiruvananthapuram is keen on servicing clients in the country's education segment with time. "We would only be pleased to talk to the Kerala government to try out and deploy our educational tools in schools if investment in education is increased," he said. |
|
With the Thiruvananthapuram offshore centre gaining in prominence with regard to the global operations of RM plc, Leighfield said the company would be investing more in people resources in its bid to grow steadily. "We have been growing both in terms of professionals and commercially over the years. Recruitments are a continuing aspect at RMESI and we would ensure a steady growth as always," he added. |

The company employs close to 300 professionals in its India operations. "We would be picking more potential candidates to work with us from the various engineering colleges spread across Kerala," he said. |
