Drug maker Unichem Laboratories today said its net profit rose by 2.45 per cent to Rs 34.70 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2010, over the same period previous fiscal.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 33.87 crore for the same period in the corresponding fiscal.
Total income of the company stood at Rs 202.03 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, compared to Rs 174.65 crore in the same period previous fiscal, Unichem Laboratories said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The company also declared an interim dividend of Rs 1.20 per equity share of face value Rs 2 for the year 2010-11.
For the six months period ended September 30, the company reported a net profit of Rs 68.05 crore, compared to Rs 66.36 crore in the same period of the corresponding fiscal.
The company's total income for the six months ended September 30 stood at Rs 389.53 crore, compared to Rs 343.98 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
Shares of Unichem Laboratories closed at Rs 563.10 on the BSE on Friday, up 1.10 per cent from its previous close.
