Mumbai-based Unichem Laboratories posted a 6 per cent fall in its net profit at Rs 18.63 crore for the quarter ended March 2008, as against Rs 20.03 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Total income stood at Rs 142.41 crore, a rise of 1.45 per cent, over Rs 140.37 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.
For the financial year ended March 2008, the company posted a net profit of Rs 51.36 crore, down 26.76 per cent, as against Rs 70.13 crore last year. Total income rose 6.18 per cent at Rs 678.04 crore compared with Rs 638.54 crore in the previous financial year as per the consolidated results.
Domestic sales recorded a year-on-year growth of 9.43 per cent. Gross profit during the year ended March 2008 stood at Rs 111.4 crore.
