Before joing Unitech, Chandra was the executive director of telecom company Aircel. In his new position, Chandra will be in charge of setting up and operating Unitech's pan India mobile business, the company said in a release.
"'He will also be responsible for providing strategic direction and operational focus to Unitech's telecom operations. He will play a lead role in driving partnerships and strategic alliances for the organization and also lead the team in market building initiatives,'' the company said.
Chandra has also been the founder Chairman of Global Mobile Suppliers Associations (India Chapter) and is a Permanent Member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
Unitech has been allotted spectrum in 5 cricles out of 22 telecom circle. In February the company got Unified Access Services Licences for all the 22 telecon circels acrosss the country.
