Liquor-baron Vijay Mallya-led United Breweries today said its net profit grew 68 per cent during the fourth quarter ended March 31 to Rs 32.90 crore over the corresponding period a year ago.
The company had a net profit of Rs 19.58 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, United Breweries said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The net sales of the beer producer rose to Rs 463.58 crore during Q4 of FY09 from Rs 383.47 crore of the same quarter of FY08.
For the financial year ended March 31, UB Group firm has posted a net profit of Rs 62.10 crore, marginally down by 0.59 per cent, when compared to Rs 62.47 of last fiscal.
Net sales during FY09 rose to Rs 1,672.80 crore from Rs 1,340.80 crore of last year.
The company has also declared a dividend of Rs 3 per cumulative redeemable preference shares on 1.72 crore shares.
Shares of United Breweries closed at Rs 111, down 3.23 per cent on the BSE.
