United Breweries Limited, India's largest brewing company, has achieved record sales of 100 million cases with its strong beers portfolio in Fy13. The Indian market has been traditionally been partial to a stronger brew, and UB with its 'Kingfisher Strong' has been riding the wave with this brand alone selling a record 80 million cases during last fiscal.
Kingfisher Strong was launched in 1999 to cater to the growing Strong Beer segment in the country. It is the fastest growing beer brand in the country and has been instrumental in growing the volumes and profitability for United Breweries. Today Kingfisher Strong is India’s largest selling beer brand.
Kingfisher Red, India’s first ‘All Season’ beer, a relatively new brand (two years old) also crossed the 1 million case mark in an highly competitive strong beer segment. The remaining volumes are credited to the combined force of regional brands in UBL’s strong beer portfolio such as - UB Export Strong, Kalyani Black Label Strong, Bullet, Cannon 10000, London Pilsner Strong and Zingaro.
