US-based company Transitions Optical, manufacturer of plastic photochromic lenses, today announced a strategic focus on the Punjab market. |
Speaking to Business Standard, Satyapal Unnikrishnan, marketing manager of the company, said while consumers were increasingly becoming health-conscious, there was less awareness of eye-care. |
"Eye-care is still seen as the need for vision correction. The focus is on vision quantity--the power of the lens. But equal emphasis needs to be on vision quality because normal eye testing is done in a controlled atmosphere. But, the spectacles-wearer faces a different situation the moment he steps out of the vision-testing room," he added. |
He also unfolded a plan to work with the eye-care community in Punjab. |
To coincide with the strategic focus on Punjab, Transitions Optical brought the 'The eye didn't know that' exhibition to the city. This interactive exhibition began in India six months ago. |
