VA Tech Wabag secures Rs 5,000-crore worth orders

This is the highest ever order intake clocked by the Group in a single financial year

Water treatment firm VA Tech Wabag has said that it has received Rs 5,000 crore worth orders, the highest ever order intake clocked by the Group in a single financial year, during the financial year 2015-16, till date.

This month, the company has bagged $108 million order in the Polgahawela Water Treatment Plant, funded by the Exim Bank of India, following the Water Board of Sri Lanka and Exim Bank of India signing a loan agreement. This is the second order from Sri Lank for the company through buyers credit, said the company.

Order book

In September 2015, the company had secured Rs 1,500 crore effluent treatment plant order from Petronas in Malaysia. 

Months earlier in July 2015, it bagged Rs 580 crore order for Al Madina Al Shamaliya Sewage treatment plant. It also won contracts worth Rs 220 crore from Dangote Fertilisers in Nigeria and Rs 594-crore worth orders in Chennai.
