Vaasthu Associates, a Vadodara-based vastu consultant, has lined up a television series to spread awareness about the vastu theory and its applications.

It has already produced 12 episodes and is in the process of producing 40 more. Talks with a cable television for telecast of the series are in the final stages.

The vastu theory is based on eight directions and five basic energies of nature "" earth, water, fire, air and space "" according the ancient knowledge. It is believed that directions and energies dictate the health, wealth, prosperity of the inhabitants and the owners.

The theory explains the positioning of amenities of a civil construction including a house, office, temple and even garden.

"The demand of the vastu-compliant constructions has increased over a period of time. On the other hand, vastu consultants are mushrooming to take benefits of the lucrative profession. We have produced the series to educate the masses about the actual essence of the theory," said Mahesh Gyani, chief consultant of Vaasthu Associates.

The 25-minute episode will be in a tutorial form. Gyani himself will host the show in a classroom set up and educate the viewers with the help of construction models and charts.

Gujarati scriptwriter and film director Shyam Shah has directed the series.

Talks are on with a cable channel to hand over the rights of the telecast.

However, Gyani is not willing to disclose the name of the channel at this stage.

Three generations of Gyanis have been in the business of construction and related consultancy.

Mahesh Gyani is the first member in his family business to introduce vastu services through his eight-month-old firm. He also practiced vastu for about seven years independently.

The consulting firm is providing its services to property developers, corporate houses and individuals in Vadodara, Surat, Mumbai and Rajkot.

Vaasthu Associates is also planning to expand its operations to the national level very soon.

The firm has team of eight consultants, including Vaasthu specialists and architects.
