Venkys to expand its footprint in Asia

City-based Venkateshwara Hatcheries Group said it is set to expand its footprint in Asia by launching its second overseas poultry feed manufacturing unit in Bangladesh This is the group’s second overseas poultry feed manufacturing unit outside India, following Vietnam in the recent past.

The brand’s ambassadors actor Sanjay Dutt and Australian cricketer Brett Lee recently launched the group’s brand--Venky’s in Bangladesh at an event held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre at Dhaka.

The company will be setting up a state of the art poultry feed manufacturing unit, with an initial investment of The Rajkot pump industry has had a turnover of Rs 800-1,000 crore and the city is third largest pump manufacture city in India after Coimbatore and Ahmedabad. The Rajkot-based 350 pump manufactuing units provide direct employment to the more than 10,000 people and indirect employment to over one lakh people12 crore. The unit with a production capacity of 4500 MT per month will commence operations by the year-end.“Our aim is to provide quality products and services at the door-step of poultry farmers. This reflects our commitment as a company to honor our mission statement of quality through technology. We have launched the group’s entire product portfolio in Bangladesh to provide the poultry farmers with high-quality, yet cost-effective products by making use of Swiss technology. We would be setting up an aqua feed mill within the next six months as part of the group’s diversification plans,” B. Venkatesh Rao, joint managing director, Venkateshwara Hatcheries Pvt. Ltd. said.“Since we are in the livestock business and are producing goods that are ultimately consumed by humans, we follow stringent health and safety practices. We provide total poultry support to the farmers in the form of consistent monitoring of flocks and accurate diagnosis of poultry diseases. To achieve this, the company has established a poultry diagnostic lab in Bangladesh and plans to set up a second lab in the next 3 months. The services provided by these labs will be freeof cost,” added B. Balaji Rao, managing director, Venky’s (India) Ltd.
