Seed investment and innovation platform Venture Catalysts (VCats) has infused $1,50,000 in SIFTR Labs, a platform to curate digital images using machine learning, as seed investment. Angels from the platform including Vishal Maheshwari, Vikas Kapoor, Daud Ali and Nitin Agarwal participated in the funding.

SIFTR Labs, founded by two former employees of Adobe, Romi Mittal and Mayank Bhagya, aims to assist photographers in managing their photography and claims to have created the world's first self-updating photo websites, SIFTR Photo Websites.

Apoorv Ranjan Sharma, Co-founder, Venture Catalyst, said, "using artificial intelligence on images is an exciting space to be in and the idea of SIFTR Labs resonated well with VCats' angels".

Vishal Maheshwari, who led the angel investment for VCats, added, "the start-up world today revolves around the disruption of extant services, which is why the decision to invest in SIFTR was made. We believe that another digital re-evolution is imminent which shall be driven by advanced GPU and machine learning. As such, the promising technology that SIFTR employs makes it well-poised for success in the time to come."

This investment follows the platform's recent infusion of $250,000 by VCats into ConfirmTkt. It has also recently partnered with leading global start-up accelerator Plug and Play to expose Indian companies to strategic opportunities and connect with potential partners, investors and mentors from around the world.
