Hyderabad-based contract research and testing company Vimta Labs Ltd reported a 28.4 per cent decline in its net profit to Rs 6.24 crore during 2007-08 compared with Rs 8.72 crore in the previous year. The profit declined despite the company registering a 28.2 per cent rise in turnover to Rs 78.89 crore from Rs 61.52 crore in 2006-07. According to the audited results announced by the company, its expenditure during the year increased 45.9 per cent on account of rise in raw material consumption, employees cost, depreciation and other expenditure.
