The company, having a 30 per cent share in the organised sector, also manufactures speed belts and radiator hoses for automobile units. It sells to the road transport department, the Defence Research and Development Orgnisation, NTPC, and ONGC.

The unit can produce daily around 10,000 pieces of industrial belts, 4,000 pieces of automotive belts, and 3,000 radiator hoses.

Gupta added, "We will launch timing belts most probably by the end of 2007." Rai said it was a promising sector and timing belts were imported in India. "Once production starts, the company will manufacture 1,000 timing belts a day in about 100 different sizes to cater for domestic as well export markets."

"Once the production capacity is doubled, we can increase our market share from 30 per cent currently to 50 per cent by 2007-08. Also, once the new unit is operational, the company hopes to earn around Rs 80 crore as turnover by 2007-08," he said.

The company exports power transmission belts to the Middle East, the US, Africa, and Russia. Commenting on the firm's wide presence in domestic and overseas markets, Gupta said, "It is a 9001:2000 certified company. We export regularly to more than 35 countries."
