Net sales for the period were Rs 79.30 crore, 10.19 per cent higher than Rs 72.05 crore for the corresponding period in 2005. |
Wire and Wireless in the red |
Wire and Wireless India (WWIL), the cable arm of the Zee group, has slipped in the red by incurring a net loss of Rs 15.9 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006. The consolidated revenue for the period stood at Rs 51.3 crore while the operating loss was Rs 3.3 crore. |
"WWIL has just begun its rollout of digital cable services in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata. We have been able to capture almost half of the market in these areas," said chairman Subhash Chandra. Meanwhile, the Zee Group has said it would invest Rs 131 crore in WWIL. |
Bartronics net up 191% |
The Hyderabad-based Bartronics India, a provider of security-based automation solutions such as barcodes, biometrics, smartcards and radio frequency based identification (RFID), has posted a net profit of Rs 3.44 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, compared with Rs 1.18 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, a growth of 191 per cent. |
