Vistara will operate two daily flights connecting Bengaluru to New Delhi and Mumbai. The inaugural flight from New Delhi to Bengaluru will take off at 6.40 am tomorrow morning from Terminal 3 at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The Mumbai bound flight takes off from Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport at 10.10 am.
With this, Bengaluru will become Vistara's second destination in South India after Hyderabad and the tenth overall since its launch on January 9 this year.
Phee Teik Yeoh, chief executive officer, Tata SIA Airlines Limited said, "We will be taking possession of three more aircraft by November this year and by then we will add more destinations. We are currently finalising our schedule and will announce very soon,"
While, he refused to divulge the names of new destinations, it is expected that the company would start operations to Chennai and Kolkata among other cities. "Our aim is to connect all major cities where corporates are in need of," he said.
To mark the launch of services to Bengaluru, Vistara also announced a partnership with Tata Group company Titan Company Ltd, under which passengers travelling on Vistara will be entitled to a 20% discount on purchase of watches priced Rs 5,000 and above at all World of Titan showrooms in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. However, the offer is limited only to these three cities and anyone travelling to other destinations on the Vistara?s network will have to avail the offer only in these three cities, a company spokesperson said.
"We will be entering into partnership with more companies of Tata Group in the coming days as a first step towards our plan to offer value added services to our passengers," Yeoh said.
In the first five months of commercial operations, Vistara has grown its network to 237 weekly frequencies connecting Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bagdogra, Guwahati, Goa, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune. Vistara has already flown more than 300,000 customers and has delivered an on-time performance of 96% since February. Its load factor touched 66% in the month of April.
