Telecom service provider Vodafone India has ramped up its network presence in Maharashtra and Goa to boost data operations in the circle, a senior company official said today.
"With a 100% YoY data growth registered in the circle, Vodafone is now all geared up to further boost data growth and facilitate the finest 2G and 3G data experience to customers in Maharashtra and Goa," said Ishmeet Singh, Vodafone India business head for Maharashtra and Goa.
Over the past six months, Vodafone has added over 300 sites, and expanded network presence to include Satara, Sangli, Miraj and Dhule, he said.

The company presently has an overall subscriber base of 14.7 million in Maharashtra and Goa, out of which a big of number of Vodafone subscribers with data enabled handsets have not yet adopted to data usage, Singh said.
Vodafone sees a significant growth opportunity in transforming these smartphone users to data subscribers.
Moreover, latest trends indicate a healthy pattern of data penetration in smaller towns and this first time data user segment is what Vodafone is looking to tap in the immediate months to come, he said.
Over the past five years, Vodafone's journey in Maharashtra and Goa has seen us take significant strides in strengthening our customer base in voice services, he said.
"The next big step is data. We see a huge potential in this area and are looking at strategically focusing on promoting mobile internet adoption through penetration, consumption and value addition," Singh said.
Vodafone's retail network in Maharashtra and Goa consists of 48 Vodafone stores, over 600 Vodafone mini stores, more than 1,25,000 outlets and over 1,600 channel partners.
