“A global format store each will be launched at Anantapur, Visakhapatnam and at Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad during this month, while the remaining will be rolled out in a phased manner,” he told mediapersons here on Wednesday.
Each of the new company-owned-and-operated stores would have a carpet area of 1,000 sft and typically involve an investment of between Rs 30 lakh and Rs 50 lakh, depending on the location, he said.

Bhatia, however, refused to divulge the unique selling proposition of the new global format. At present, Vodafone has over 1,000 stores, including 30 company-owned, in the two states.
The company would also be launching the Choose Your Number service, offering over 150,000 numbers to choose from with an option to search numbers with multiple combinations, in AP and Telangana on July 10, he said.
Bhatia said 30 per cent of the company’s subscribers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana was on data. Vodafone currently has a subscriber base of 6.3 million in the two states.
