Volkswagen to train engg students

Volkswagen India has introduced a trainig programme for the students of polytechnic in Pune. Volkswagen Group Technical Education Program (VG-TAP)  in association with city based Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s Polytechnic college.

Volkswagen Group India will offer training and technical support to educational institutes to create employment for youth in the automobile sector. Pune-based Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s Polytechnic is the first institute in India that Volkswagen Group India has associated with to implement the VG-TAP program.

With this, the students will get a hands-on experience of working on latest technology in automobile industry when they work on a Volkswagen Jetta and a Volkswagen Polo given to the Institute by Volkswagen Group. The Volkswagen Training Academy will also provide training to the teachers at the polytechnic.

Speaking on the occasion Maik Stephan, Managing Director, Volkswagen Group Sales India Private Limited said, "The Automobile industry in India is growing at a rapid pace. In such a scenario, there is an ever increasing need for young and talented people in the automobile sector. Our programme is aimed at creating talent for the industry by training them in all aspects of automotive technology and customer service."

The training will assist the students with knowledge on modern automobile technologies through a certificate course.

This course will bridge the gap between the course curriculum offered by the institutes and the requirement of the industry. Under VG-TAP program, ITI (mechanic motor nvehicle and diesel engine mechanic) and diploma (mechanical and automobile) engineering students will also be trained.
