VRS at two units to cost CESC Rs 42 crore

 The total cost of VRS will be much higher because the present scheme has been kept open for all employees including workers at its headoffice in Kolkata. Sources close to the development said the total cost was likely to cross Rs 50 crore.

 As many as 350 people were expected to opt for the scheme at the New Cossipore generating station which employs around 900 people. The Mulajore unit which will be closed down requiring all employees to opt for the scheme.

 It has 488 people on the payroll.
