WABCO, automobile component maker, today inaugurated a new software engineering and business centre in Chennai. It may be noted, WABCO had a tie-up with TVS Group to manufacture components, but TVS exited completely in 2011.
The new centre that was inaugurated by Jacques Esculier, WABCO's Chairman and CEO, is spread over in 65,000 sq ft of area.
Since 2010, the company has doubled its software engineering talent pool in India to 250 and plans to add another 150 engineers over the next five years.
The new facility will also accommodate WABCO's business services team of around 110 professionals. WABCO is a leading innovator and global supplier of technologies to commercial vehicles

“Today’s strategic expansion of WABCO’s software engineering and shared services capabilities in India marks yet another milestone for WABCO,” said Esculier.
The company will leverage WABCO India’s talent pool and cost efficiency to support and differentiate the development of advanced technologies to help improve the safety and efficiency of commercial vehicles around the globe, he added.
