The domestic tourism industry is likely to be hit hard in the next 6-8 months due to the war-like situation prevailing in the sub-continent. Incoming traffic has absolutely stopped while the number of outbound bookings by groups and individuals for the forthcoming season has dropped by 20-25 per cent.
Lalit Sheth, chairman and managing director of Raj Travels, said the drop in ticket booking for outbound travels in June has touched around 20-25 per cent due to three main reasons: war, onset of monsoons and the opening of schools.
