Strengthening its global footprint, Warbug Pincus and Sequoia-backed customer engagement and retail solutions firm Capillary Technologies will be expanding to new markets like Vietnam, Philippines and Turkey by the end of this year.
The Bengaluru-based company, which derives 60 per cent of its revenue from international markets, is also deepening its presence in China. Currently it has two offices in the country, one located in Shanghai and a support centre in Hunan. “We have already opened an office in Guangzhou and will be opening another one in Beijing by September,” said Aneesh Reddy, co-founder chief executive officer, Capillary Technologies. With China as its biggest international market, the company has a team of 40 staff there.
In total, the Bengaluru-based company employs around 150 people exclusively to handle its international clients spread across seven countries including China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Saudi Arabia.
The company has clients like VF Corporation in the apparel segment in China which provides retail solutions to brands like Lee, Wrangler, Kipling and North Face. It is also working with shoe brand Anta, which has 9,000 stores across China.
Besides, Capillary is expanding its reach in Saudi Arabia, a key market in the West Asian region, said Reddy. The company is working with the Americana group in Saudi Arabia which owns franchises for fast food brands such as KFC, Krispy Kreme and TGIF in West Asia.
In South East Asia, Capillary opened offices in Thailand and Indonesia last year, but plans to expand further this year with more clients on board. It is also present in Malaysia and Singapore in the apparel and food and beverages segments.
Capillary Technologies, which is looking to break even in the next 18 months, also has a strong presence in South Africa, with clients like Pizza Hut and Bata, however, all the businesses are driven by the West Asian offices.
