Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren, a major player in welded tubes and pipes sector, has recorded 100 per cent jump in its order-book within a year from Rs 1,100 crore to Rs 2,200 crore this year.

A part of the nearly Rs 5,000 crore Welspun group, the company has, of late, bagged high-profile orders, including the Rs 500 crore agreement with PGN Indonesia, to supply coated line pipes. Pipe supplies for the project - South Sumatr-West Java Gas Pipeline - shall take place by July this year.

The company also received an order of Rs 301 crore from Stroy Transgas to supply 163 km of coated onshore pipelines for the Gazoduc Sougueur-Hadjref Ennous project in Algeria.

"Welspun has established itself as a niche player globally in high pressure oil and gas segment," said Akhil Jindal, president.
