French manufacturer of military aircraft and business jets, Dassault Aviation, is expecting West Asia to be a major market for its all-new Falcon 5X, a two-engine, long-haul (9,630 kilometre) business jet that is due to enter service in the middle of 2017.
Dassault Aviation will display Falcon 5X, which will cost close to $45 million, and two 7X and 900LX trijets, at the five-day Dubai Air Show scheduled to be held from November 17.
“The business jet market in West Asia shows promise for a healthy future. The Dubai Air Show is the perfect place to showcase our revamped model line and detail the all-new Falcon 5X large-cabin jet that we unveiled at the National Business Aviation Association Convention in Las Vegas last month,” Eric Trappier, chairman and chief executive officer of Dassault Aviation, said in a release.

Dassault, which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its Falcon business jets, has so far delivered 2,250 Falcons globally. More than 30 aircraft have been delivered to customers in the West Asian region over the past five years, nearly doubling the regional Falcon fleet to 67 aircraft.
“The Falcon 5X will feature the largest cabin cross-section and the most advanced digital flight controls in business aviation, enabling it to link Dubai to all destinations in Africa, the Far East and Europe with a level of comfort and efficiency unmatched in the large cabin segment. We believe it will be a perfect match for the demands of the West Asian market,” said Renaud Cloatre, Dassault Aviation’s sales director for West Asia.
