Home appliances maker Whirlpool of India has registered a 26% decline in its net profit at Rs 51.05 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 as against the same period last fiscal.
The company had a net profit of Rs 64.20 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2010, Whirlpool of India said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
During the reporting quarter, the firm's net sales declined by 7.76% at Rs 790.50 crore from Rs 857.08 crore posted in the year-ago period.
For the year-end March 2011, the company had a net profit of Rs 166.04 crore and a net sales of Rs 2,611.93 crore.
Shares of Whirlpool of India were trading at Rs 213 on the BSE, up 0.42% from the previous close.
