"The companies diptheria-pertussis-tetanus based combination vaccines Easyfive, Ecovac4 and EnivacHB have been delisted by the WHO from its list of pre-qualified vaccines," Panacea Biotec said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Reacting to the development, scrips of the company touched a 52-week low of Rs 144.8 per share during the day's trading session on the BSE and recovering slightly to end at Rs 144.9 per share, down 19.92% from the previous close.
"The company has already initiated corrective measures. We will come out with a formal statement with respect to timelines very soon and then make a request for reassessment of our these three products for re listing in the list of pre-qualified vaccines of WHO," Panacea Biotec said in a statement.
However, the company claimed that WHO has said there was no evidence of quality or safety defects and the distributed batches should not be recalled and should continue to be used.
