Wigan and Leigh College India (WLCI), the professional educational institute, affiliated to Wigan and Leigh College UK, yesterday announced the launch of its media course at their Lucknow campus. The course will start in September.The first batch will comprise 15 students. |
The media school offers its courses under three categories: the 3-year Bachelor's degree in media, a 3-year Advanced Diploma in Media (ADM) and a 2-year Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication. |

"The media school of WLCI is renowned for its emphasis on practical skills and its relationship with industry. Our distinct feature is the traineeship programme where students are given paid training with leading organisations along side the course," said WLCI CEO Malobika Sengupta. |

The college is keen to set up its new campus in Allahabad next year and is also planning for an admission office in Agra. |

"The response from Lucknow is excellent and we have high expectations from the students. Business is expanding in Lucknow and a lot of companies are recruiting students for their organisations" said Sengupta while talking to Business Standard. |

WLCI has been operational since 1996 with its headquarter at New Delhi. The college offers programmes in business, fashion technology, media and advertising and graphic design in 17 cities across the country. |

"We teach our students what the industry demands. Our institute believes in offering genuine education and making students employable in the industry. Our students are placed in organisations like ICICI, HDFC, ING Vyasa, IBM, NDTV and Aaj Tak ," added Sengupta. |
