Wipro BPO, after nearly two years of painful restructuring, has posted a 27 per cent growth in revenues to touch Rs 229 crore and its pre-tax profits have scaled up by 131 per cent to Rs 52.6 crore on a year-on-year basis. |
The BPO arm during the second quarter continued its revamp process and shed around 230 employees with no new recruits coming on board. |

This, according analysts, indicates the directional revamp the business is going through in an industry, which adds employees in scores on a day-to-day basis. |

Bangalore: Information and Technology major Wipro Limited would rapidly expand its operations in China and evaluate the possibility of opening a third centre there, its Chairman Azim Premji said today. |

Premji said the Bangalore-headquartered company currently has two centres in China - at Shanghai and Beijing, employing around 100 people. |
