WMS eyes India for talent hunt

The company has invested over Rs 28 crore so far in India

US-based WMS, a digital gaming developer company, especially for casinos, has set up an research and development centre in Pune for which it is hiring local talent.

Its headcount has increased from 25 to 150 in the last two years.  The company has invested over Rs 28 crore so far in India.

This centre has a capacity to accommodate up to 240 employees, including game design and development, program management, product assurance, support and interactive game teams.

Its structure features three game development studios, four game laboratories, two product testing showrooms, and team collaboration areas.

The average age of India employee is around 25 years.

Speaking on the development Phil B Gelber, senior vice president, product development operations said, “India has a substantial and talented base of software developers and engineers, who WMS sought to employ when we opened our former facility in 2010. Today WMS is reaffirming our growth plans in Pune with this expansion. We look forward to increasing our employee count by more than 75  per cent in near future to support the development of innovative gaming content for the worldwide casino industry.”

WMS is developing a comprehensive suite of products and managed services that will enable its casino customers to stay connected to their players.
